When searching for books in the catalog, be sure to note which campus location the book is located at. Please see details below for requesting a book from another campus. To find more books on Opticianry, use the following search terms in our Primo catalog above:

Checking Out Books
Present your GPTC student ID card at the front desk in order to check out books from the Library. Books can be checked out for 28 days, popular books for 14 days. Reference Books and Periodicals cannot be checked out and are for in-library use only.


Renewing Books

Materials may be renewed 2x, if no other requests or holds have been placed on them. The maximum number of items that may be checked out to a student at any given time is 20. Videos and DVD's may be checked out for 5 days, with a limit of 3 videos or DVD's. Please contact or visit the Library to renew your books.

Books on Reserve
Books on Reserve can be used in the Library for 3 hours at a time. You will need to present your driver's license in addition to your student ID card in order to check these materials out. To learn more about which books are on Reserve for which course, check the  Library Catalog.

"In Process" or "On Order" Books

These are books that are new to the library, are being cataloged & labeled, or have recently been ordered by the library, and should be available for check out shortly. If you have any questions, please contact the Library.


Books are organized using the Library of Congress classification system. Browse for Opticianry materials in the RE area of the library.
