Welcome to New Media!

New Media is the department at GPTC where creative minds acquire fun and exciting technology skills in order to gain employment in the design, entertainment, and building fields.

Within the New Media are four distinct programs: 

  1. Design & Media Production Technology 
  2. Drafting Technologies 
  3. Recording Arts Technology 
  4. Residential Building Design Technology

     

Graduates of the Design & Media Production Technology program receive a credential (certificate, diploma and/or degree) in basic design with options to generalize across specializations or focus exclusively on Graphic Design and Prepress, 3D Computer Animation, Motion Graphics, Photography, or Video Production. 

 

Graduates of the Drafting Technologies program receive a credential (certificate, diploma and/or degree) in drafting practices, 2D and 3D CAD software, and 3D printing. 

 

Graduates of the Recording Arts Technologies program receive a credential (degree) in live sound, recording, studio engineering, field recording, production of beats, audio for gaming, sound for film and television and sound for interactive applications such as animation, multimedia and web audio.

Graduates of the Residential Building Design Technologies program receive a credential (degree) in the design of residences including software use, the history of residential buildings, presentation techniques , design theory, the design of structures and systems, and sustainable design practices.
